It’s the restaurateur Gladwin Brother’s first pub venture, and they have created a menu that focuses on all of the good stuff. Standout starters include the freshest Jersey oysters served with apple shallot vinaigrette, their famous mushroom Marmite éclairs and devilled violet quail eggs with the crispiest pork crackling. The main course is served with seasonal vegetables from the Gladwin Brother’s farm, towering Yorkshire puddings and perfectly crisp and fluffy roast potatoes. You can choose from Sussex beef sirloin, Tamworth pork belly or whole chicken with morels and pancetta. Complement your meal with Sussex ales or wines from the Gladwins’ Nutbourne vineyard, thoughtfully paired throughout a carefully crafted menu.
